Curtis Boone spent twelve years as a fabricator and mechanic in a Concord race shop, building and maintaining cooling systems where a part that “almost worked” wasn’t good enough. On the side, he’d been fixing neighbors’ refrigerators and dryers for years — word of mouth around Concord’s racing community — and by 2018 the side work had outgrown the hours he had left after shop shifts. He left to do appliance repair full-time that year.
